Hello with a H, H, H

Katie Weber, 2^nd grade teacher at Roy Gomm Elementary in Reno, Nevada, knows the importance of greeting her students each day.  She allows them to choose between a handshake, high five, or hug.  Her enthusiasm for welcoming her students each day is evident. 

This simple act of greeting students is validated by the research of Allen Allday, University of Kentucky.  He found that just by greeting students, you can raise their level of engagement in your classroom up to 27%.  (Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, 2007 and 2011)
